General

How far in advance should I book my move?

We recommend booking at least two to three weeks in advance, especially during peak season (May through September). However, we also offer last-minute and same-day moving services across the GTA for those unexpected situations. The earlier you book, the more flexibility you will have with scheduling.

What areas do you serve?

Fast Track Move serves Toronto and 17 municipalities across the Greater Toronto Area, including North York, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Newmarket, Barrie, Pickering, Whitby, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Markham, Oakville, and Burlington. Beyond the GTA, we cover all of Southern Ontario — east to the Quebec border, west to the Manitoba border, south to the US border, and north through Ontario.

How long does a typical move take?

A standard one-bedroom apartment move within Toronto usually takes two to three hours. A three-bedroom house typically takes four to six hours depending on the amount of furniture and distance between locations. We will give you an accurate time estimate during your free quote.

Do you move on weekends and holidays?

Yes, we offer moving services seven days a week, including weekends and most holidays. Weekend slots tend to fill up quickly, so we recommend booking as early as possible. Holiday rates may apply for statutory holidays.

Can I reschedule or cancel my move?

We understand plans change. You can reschedule your move free of charge with at least 48 hours notice. Cancellations made within 48 hours of your scheduled move may be subject to a cancellation fee. Contact us as soon as possible and we will work with you.

Do you provide moving services for seniors?

Absolutely. We offer specialized senior moving services with extra care and patience. Our team can assist with downsizing, packing, and coordinating with retirement communities across the GTA. We understand the emotional side of these moves and treat every client with compassion.

Do you serve North York?

Yes! North York is one of our busiest service areas. We regularly handle moves throughout the Yonge-Sheppard corridor, Willowdale, Bayview Village, Don Mills, York Mills, and Downsview. Our crews are experienced with the high-rise condo buildings along Sheppard Avenue and Yonge Street, including elevator booking, loading dock scheduling, and certificate of insurance requirements. Whether you are moving into a new condo at Yonge and Sheppard or relocating from a family home in Don Mills, Fast Track Move has you covered.

Do you serve Scarborough and Etobicoke?

Absolutely. We provide full moving services throughout Scarborough — from Birch Cliff and Guildwood near the Bluffs to Agincourt, Malvern, and Rouge in the east. In Etobicoke, we cover everything from the lakefront condos of Humber Bay Shores and Mimico to the family neighborhoods of The Kingsway, Islington, and Rexdale. Both areas are within our core GTA service zone with no extra distance surcharges.

What neighbourhoods in the GTA do you cover?

Fast Track Move covers every neighbourhood across the Greater Toronto Area. Our 17 core service areas include Toronto (downtown and midtown), North York, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Newmarket, Barrie, Pickering, Whitby, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Markham, Oakville, and Burlington. Beyond the GTA, we serve all of Southern Ontario. No matter where you are, our crews can reach you quickly and efficiently.

Pricing

How do you calculate the cost of a move?

Our pricing is based on the number of movers needed, the estimated time for your move, and the distance between locations. We provide a detailed quote after reviewing your inventory so there are no surprises. What we quote is what you pay.

Are there any hidden fees I should know about?

No. Transparency is one of our core values. Our quotes include all costs upfront including fuel, mileage, and basic equipment. If your move involves unusual circumstances like long carries, narrow stairways, or specialty items, we will flag those during the estimate so you know ahead of time.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes, we provide free, no-obligation estimates for all moves. You can get a quick quote online, over the phone, or request an in-home walkthrough for larger moves. Our estimates are detailed and accurate so you can plan your budget with confidence.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, debit, and credit cards. Payment is collected on-site at the completion of the move. A deposit may be required for long-distance or large-scale moves.

Do you charge extra for stairs or elevators?

Stairs and elevators can add time to a move, and we always factor this into your initial quote. There are no surprise stair fees added on moving day. If your building requires elevator booking, let us know and we will plan accordingly.

Is there a minimum charge?

Yes, we have a minimum charge of two hours for local moves within the GTA. This covers the base cost of dispatching our crew and truck to your location. Most small moves are completed well within this window.

How much do movers cost in Toronto and North York?

Fast Track Move charges an hourly rate based on crew size — from $129/hour for a 2-person crew to $331/hour for a 5-person white glove crew. This rate covers your movers, the truck, all equipment, and furniture protection materials. In addition to the hourly rate, there is a single flat travel fee charged once per move, based on the distance zone of your relocation. A one-bedroom condo move in North York usually costs between $400 and $700, while a three-bedroom house move in Toronto ranges from $800 to $1,500. We provide detailed, binding quotes so you know the exact cost before moving day.

What time of year is cheapest to move in the GTA?

The most affordable time to move in the Greater Toronto Area is between October and March, which is considered the off-peak moving season. During these months, demand is lower and scheduling is more flexible, which often translates to lower rates and more availability. The busiest and most expensive months are June through August, when families with children prefer to move during summer break. If your schedule allows, booking a mid-week move (Tuesday through Thursday) can also help reduce costs year-round.

Packing & Preparation

Do you offer packing services?

Yes, we offer full and partial packing services. Our team uses professional-grade materials including double-walled boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper, and custom crating for fragile items. You can choose to have us pack everything or just the items you are concerned about.

Should I empty my drawers before moving?

For dressers and nightstands, lightweight clothing can usually stay in the drawers. However, we recommend removing heavy items, breakables, and anything valuable. Our team will wrap furniture with moving blankets regardless, but lighter drawers make transport safer.

Can you provide moving boxes and supplies?

Yes, we sell a full range of moving supplies including boxes of all sizes, wardrobe boxes, dish-packing kits, mattress covers, packing tape, and bubble wrap. We can deliver supplies to your home before moving day or include them as part of your packing service.

What items should I not pack?

We cannot transport hazardous materials such as propane tanks, paints, chemicals, ammunition, or perishable foods. Important documents, medications, jewelry, and irreplaceable personal items should travel with you personally. We will provide a full list of restricted items with your booking confirmation.

How should I prepare my appliances for the move?

Refrigerators should be defrosted and emptied at least 24 hours before your move. Washing machines hoses should be disconnected and drained. We recommend having large appliances serviced or prepped by a technician if needed. Our team handles the heavy lifting and transport.

Do you disassemble and reassemble furniture?

Yes, furniture disassembly and reassembly is included with our moving services at no extra charge. Our movers carry the tools needed to take apart beds, desks, shelving units, and dining tables. We recommend keeping any hardware in labeled bags for easy reassembly.

How should I prepare for a condo move in North York or downtown Toronto?

Condo moves require extra preparation compared to house moves. Book your building elevator at least two weeks in advance through your property management office. Obtain a certificate of insurance (COI) from your moving company to provide to building management — we handle this automatically. Reserve loading dock access for your move-in date and confirm parking availability for the moving truck. Notify your building of the move date and confirm any time restrictions. We handle all of these logistics as part of our standard condo moving service in North York and downtown Toronto.

Do you provide wardrobe boxes for clothing?

Yes, we offer wardrobe boxes as part of our packing supplies. These tall boxes include a built-in hanging rod so your clothes can be transferred directly from your closet without folding or wrinkling. They are especially popular for long-distance moves and professional wardrobe collections. You can purchase them individually or they are included with our full-service packing option.

Moving Day

What happens when the movers arrive?

Our crew lead will introduce the team, do a walkthrough of your home with you, and confirm the plan for the day. They will identify priority items, note any concerns, and lay down floor protection before any heavy lifting begins. You will always know exactly what is happening.

How do you protect my floors and walls?

We use heavy-duty floor runners, corner guards, door frame protectors, and moving blankets throughout your home. Our team is trained to navigate tight hallways, stairs, and elevators without causing damage. We treat your home like it is our own.

Will the same crew load and unload my belongings?

Yes. The same crew that loads your belongings at the pickup location will unload them at your destination. This ensures continuity, accountability, and careful handling of your items from start to finish.

Can I ride in the moving truck?

For insurance and safety reasons, passengers are not allowed to ride in the moving truck. We recommend driving your personal vehicle to the new location or arranging separate transportation. Our crew will arrive on schedule and keep you updated throughout the move.

What if it rains on moving day?

We move rain or shine. Our trucks are fully enclosed and waterproof, and we use plastic wrap and protective covers to keep your furniture and boxes dry during loading and unloading. In extreme weather conditions like ice storms, we will contact you to discuss rescheduling for safety.

Do I need to be present during the entire move?

We recommend being present at both the pickup and delivery locations, or having a trusted representative available. You will need to do a final walkthrough with our crew lead at each location to confirm everything has been loaded and placed correctly.

Insurance & Protection

Are my belongings insured during the move?

Yes. Fast Track Move carries comprehensive commercial general liability insurance and cargo insurance. All items are covered during transport. We also offer additional valuation coverage options for high-value items if you want extra peace of mind.

What happens if something is damaged during the move?

In the rare event that something is damaged, report it to your crew lead immediately or contact us within 48 hours. We have a straightforward claims process and will work quickly to resolve the issue, whether through repair, replacement, or compensation.

Do you carry WSIB coverage?

Yes, all of our employees are covered under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). This means you are not liable for any workplace injuries that may occur on your property during the move. Your protection is our priority.

Should I purchase additional moving insurance?

Our standard coverage protects against most situations. However, if you are moving high-value items such as fine art, antiques, or expensive electronics, we recommend discussing enhanced valuation coverage with our team. We can tailor a protection plan to suit your needs.

Are you licensed and certified to operate in Ontario?

Absolutely. Fast Track Move is fully licensed to operate in the Province of Ontario. We are also proud members of the Canadian Association of Movers. Our team undergoes regular training in safe handling, proper lifting techniques, and customer service excellence.
